Alyssa Jantz, BA, MSW, RSW

Alyssa is an exceptionally skilled and highly experienced therapist with a genuine passion for helping individuals from diverse backgrounds through therapy. She is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for learning, growth, and healing, utilizing a trauma-informed approach. In addition to her extensive post-secondary education of eight years, she actively seeks opportunities to further refine her skills and knowledge. Alyssa is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services workers.

Alyssa is committed to mastering new therapies to integrate various treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT, and ART. Her strong dedication to evidence-based treatment modalities is evident from her previous work in research as a research assistant and co-authoring a mobility study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. With over a decade of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (primary reserves) as a Military Officer, Alyssa has a profound commitment to serving Canada. She has adeptly applied some of the therapy she uses to get herself through grueling military training environments. She also possesses a deep understanding of the unique pressures of working on the front lines of public health as a crisis mental health worker.

Through her work with a crisis mental health services mobile mental health team, she has garnered extensive experience working with police and medical personnel, providing psychological support to first responders. Alyssa has gained firsthand insight into the impact of untreated mental illness, prolonged grief, trauma, and the escalation of stressors leading to a crisis and can help those beginning on their journey to those who are ready to make a change. It is never too early or late to prioritize mental health. Alyssa’s expertise extends to working with addictions, trauma, and various mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, grief, borderline personality disorder, chronic pain, and illness.
